SUIDAKRA: Upcoming 'Best Of' Collection To Include Live DVD
July 29, 2007German melodic black/death metallers SUIDAKRA have issued the following update:
"After [the band's appearance at the] Wacken [Open Air festival in early August] we will stagger into the Gernhart Studio to record some old SUIDAKRA tracks and re-master the newer ones for a 'best-of' compilation. This album will be released together with a live DVD containing the Wacken 2006 show, the acoustic show at the Kielowatt Festvial 2006 and various other video clips. This fine package will be complimented graphically with artwork by Kris Verwimp, so this will surely be a must-have for every SUIDAKRA fan, and fans of the future!"
SUIDAKRA's video for the song "The IXth Legion" has been posted online at YouTube. The track comes off the group's latest CD, "Caledonia", which was released in Europe on November 17 via Armageddon Music. The follow-up to 2005's "Command to Charge" was recorded by Martin Buchwalter at Gernhart Records studio in Siegburg, Germany and features artwork by Kris Verwimp. The album photography was handled by Axel Jusseit, who previously worked with the group on 2003's "Signs for the Fallen". The mastering was done by Michael Schwabe at Monoposto Mastering (SUBWAY TO SALLY, DIE TOTEN HOSEN) in Düsseldorf, Germany.
According to the band, "'Caledonia' adopts the lyrical concept of ancient Scottish history, which explains songtitles such as 'Highland Hills', 'Forth-Clyde' and 'The IXth Legion'."
